Clinical Psychologist

Combining Biblical

and psychological strategies to improve

mental well-being.

I'm a follower of Jesus and have been a Clinical Psychologist for over 15 years. I grew up in the church and decided to follow Jesus in my early 20s.

In this next season of my professional life, I'd like to share insights into psychological principles and the wisdom and Truth found in the Bible. I want to make the psychological tools found in the Bible practical so that we can use them in our daily lives. The more we can use the tools God has given us, the more intimate our relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will become, and the peace and purpose we will have.

Here's a bit about my professional background:

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma in 2001 and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2007. I became a licensed Psychologist in Florida in 2008 (and Oklahoma in 2016). While living in Florida, I worked at the James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital as a rehabilitation psychologist in the Spinal Cord Injuries and Disorders Unit, helping newly paralyzed veterans regain their lives after a tragic injury. I then worked in the primary care clinics, counseling veterans who had chronic pain, illness, insomnia, depression, and anxiety. I then worked for one year in dementia care and rehabilitation units.

I moved back to my hometown of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, in the fall of 2015 and opened a private therapy practice a few months later. In all of my work, I have helped people cope with mental health problems, aging, chronic pain, chronic illness, trauma, depression, and anxiety.

Over the years, my understanding of prioritizing faith and Biblical strategies has been paramount to my own mental well-being and the well-being of those whom I had the privilege to counsel. I'm thankful that God has called me to share what I have learned, and I pray that it helps you along your journey.
